ABOUT THE SUMMIT____________________________________________

Leadership. Innovation. Sustainability. Global Partnerships.

Advance, Australia’s leading global ‘people to people’ network of Australians and alumni abroad, hosted the Advance Women’s Leadership Summit in Sydney 7-8 March 2011.

The Summit highlighted the achievements of some remarkable women, as well as introduced 50 current and emerging leaders who are set to drive the agenda for years to come. This event built on the success of previous summits and celebrated and explored the ways women contribute to the development of business, social innovation, commercialisation, and culture across the Asia Pacific region. In addition, there were panel discussions, keynotes and networking events for the more than 250 attendees.

Australia’s future depends on our ability to engage constructively and effectively with our diverse neighbours, and the Summit presents a unique opportunity to connect with our dynamic, entrepreneurial diaspora - a community of Asia Pacific influential women and men, and our leaders and emerging leaders of business, government and other industry sectors.

Advance convened thought leaders, CEO’s and women in senior leadership and management roles, across diverse organisations and industries in the Asia Pacific. The Summit was aimed at inspiring, empowering, and connecting women leaders, executives, entrepreneurs, innovators, social entrepreneurs, managers, professionals, and NGO and government leaders.

Of the more than 250 people in attendance, 50 Australians and alumni who are pursuing careers on the global stage were chosen and honoured as ‘Advance’s Leading 50 Women’.

The audience consisted of women and men in senior leadership and management roles across a range of fields: - CEOs and Senior Executives - Managing Partners, Managing Directors
and innovators across industries - Directors and Managers of companies across industries - Business owners and social entrepreneurs - Government representatives - Interested and interesting participants.
