Prasanna Lakshmi Abbaraju

Prasanna is a final year PhD student at The University of Queensland (UQ). Her research spans a variety of areas including drug and vaccine delivery using mesoporous silica nanoparticles.

Prasanna previously completed B Pharm and M Pharm (Pharmaceutics) degrees. For her master thesis, she developed oral formulations. Prior to her PhD studies, she was a lecturer at Pharmacy College in India and received best lecture award in 2012. Passionate about further studies she moved to Australia in 2013 to undertake her PhD programme at UQ. During her training as a doctoral student in the department as well as her experience with various industrial internship, she has participated in projects involving economic impact to society.  For her doctoral thesis, she is investigating safe silica nanoparticles for drug delivery/ protein delivery for treating melanoma cancer.

Prasanna is excited to be a part of the Advance Mentoring Program as she believes that learning from success mentor boosts up motivation and find a more focused direction for her career.
