Mr Paul Glasson is the Chairman of Satori Investments Greater China Limited. He is also the China Representative for Australia’s HRL Limited and the Chief Representative in China for the Australia China Business Council. Other roles have included Strategic Alliance Partner with KPMG Australia over the past four years and partner to some of Shanghai governments’ major SOE’s including SIIC.

Mr Glasson’s corporate advisory engagements have included roles with a number of China’s largest companies and Australian companies working with Chinese companies on projects in Australia including: Citic Pacific on $3.5 Bn Sino Iron; MCC on Sino Iron Project; Yilgarn Infrastructure proposed $4.5 Bn port and rail project; Baosteel; Nanjing Iron and Steel; Fosun Group; Australasian Resources; Yunnan Copper; Huaneng; SIIC; Zhenhua Port Machinery; Zhixin Electric; and others.

Mr Glasson has also played a pivotal role on behalf of Australia’s HRL in developing a presence in the clean coal/coal gasification sector in China in recent years. HRL has entered into an agreement with Harbin Power, China’s largest power station developer, to build a 550MW clean coal gasification plant in Victoria. This transaction is the largest cooperation between Australia and China in the area of emissions reduction and was a landmark transaction involving many “firsts”. It was the first EPC for a Chinese company in a developed nation and was the first, and remains the only, major clean coal cooperation between Australia and China.

Mr Glasson has been involved in providing corporate advisory services in almost all of these transactions in an origination and execution role as well as leading high level dialogues with key departments in China like SASAC, MOFCOM and NDRC on policies surrounding the investment of Chinese funds abroad. He has also worked with Australian governments to attract investment into Victoria and the Northern Territory. Mr Glasson has also been involved in the establishment of private equity funds in China.
