On Tuesday the 24th of October we were delighted to invite the Advance community to an evening hosted by Michelle Garnaut, CEO of M Restaurant Group and Advance Board Member, at M Glam in Shanghai to experience delicious Aussie wines, cocktails and canapés while enjoying gorgeous views of the Bund.

We were joined on the evening by Advance Board Member Chris Boshuizen who shared stories of his experience as an Australian scientist and entrepreneur working at the intersection of technology and space exploration.

The Advance community in China is highly valued and extremely diverse. Attendees spanned government and business leaders to next-generation influencers, including Marcus Loghem, Acting Consul General in Shanghai, Dr Martin Shen, CEO & Founder of XingRen Trusted Doctors, Jemma Xu, Founder & CEO of Tripalocal, Cindy Gottinger, Industry Lead Google and Chair of Australia China Young Professionals Initiative, Dr Jianzhong Lu, Partner Brunswick Group, Michael Wadley, China Business Advisor and Australia China Business Council Representative, and Richard Tan, Founder and Managing Director, InnoSpace. In addition, we were privileged to have an extra touch of glam with dancers and production team from The Sydney Dance Company joining us as they tour China.

We are currently undertaking a few exciting initiatives to increase our attention in the region, one that is home to tens of thousands of bright Australian expatriates and alumni of Australian Universities. We are committed to expanding the community, improving opportunities, growing our networks and increasing the breadth of our offering.

To lead Advance in Asia, we are thrilled to officially welcome our new Asia Director, Stefanie Myers. Stefanie is based in Hong Kong and her extensive network of business, government and non-government contacts throughout the Asia Pacific region will be a great asset to our community.
