Wednesday 28th February

On the last evening of February in New York, Advance hosted the second Born Global Salon for 2018 with special guest, Jeremy Balkin, Head of Innovation at HSBC and 2017 Advance Global Australian Award winner.

Nicknamed the "Anti Wolf of Wall Street", Jeremy is a leading international expert on ethics in banking, fintech and the strategic engagement of millennials in financial services. Jeremy was named among the Top 35 Millennial Influencers in the USA by the NBT Movement in Washington DC.

With an incredible view of the East River, the Advance community gathered at the Australian Consul General in New York, Alastair Walton’s residence to meet with other Born Global leaders and listen to a fire side chat with Jeremy, led by Bloomberg’s Ramy Inocencio. It was a pleasure to hear about what drives and inspires Jeremy, ethics, good business and how all of that can inspire us, as millennials.

Guests included Belinda Luscombe, Editor-At-Large, TIME; Henry Makeham, Founder and Chairman, Australia China Youth Dialogue, Sally Paridis, Founder and CEO, CoClear; David McCann, Director, Strategy & Communications, ColorZen; Prue Clarke, Advance Social Impact Award winner and Kirsty Rankin, Senior Vice President, Mastercard, amongst others.

To close the evening, guests had the opportunity to connect whilst enjoying wine and canapes.

A big thank you to the Australian Consul-General in New York, Alastair Walton, for hosting the Salon at his residence.
