Monika McLennan

Born in Poland, brought up in Australia and currently residing in New York City, Monika McLennan received her Bachelor of Arts in Modern Asian Studies from Griffith University in 1991 and went on to complete Graduate studies in Japanese Language and Sociology at Seikei University in Tokyo, Japan. She subsequently worked at the Australian Embassy, Tokyo.

In New York, Monika serves as a Trustee of the World Monuments Fund and is a member of the United States Board of the Australian Wildlife Conservancy.  Monika’s interests extend to the field of art and design where she is a Patron and Advisor to the President of The Royal Academy of Arts in London and a member of the Director’s Circle at The Frick Collection in New York. Finally, Monika, along with her husband, Matthew, serves on the Board of Dean’s Advisors of the Harvard School of Public Health.

Aside from living in Australia, Japan, and more recently the United States of America, Monika’s career and passions have also led her to live in Europe and the United Kingdom. Truly a citizen of the world, Monika is a wonderful example of an Advance Ambassador as well as being an engaged supporter of Advance’s mission to build a community of Australians globally.
