Professor Merilyn Liddell AM, (MBBS, MFM, MD, FRACGP, FAMAC, FACRRM, GAICD),  is the President of RMIT University Vietnam and Pro Vice-Chancellor of RMIT University, responsible for overseeing the operations and development of RMIT University Vietnam, in its Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi campuses.

Professor Merilyn Liddell has had a distinguished academic career and a record of successful
academic leadership and management in Australia and internationally. Prior to her academic career, Professor Liddell practiced in clinical medicine in Canada, UK and Australia. For some years she held the position of Head of the Department of General Practice at Monash University.

Prior to her appointment at RMIT, Professor Liddell was the Pro Vice-Chancellor and President of
the Malaysia campus of Monash University. In the period of her leadership Professor Liddell oversaw the development of its new campus facility, the extension of its academic programs (including the development of a medical school with full Australian Medical Council accreditation) and the development of research and research training in all disciplines.

Since her appointment to RMIT in July 2009, she has reshaped the academic direction of RMIT
Vietnam, with a commitment to development of the technical disciplines, research, and an ongoing focus on quality. In 2010, Professor Liddell was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for service to tertiary education and administration, particularly in the discipline of medicine, and to cross-cultural exchange and co-operation with Malaysia.
