Mr Kyran Sze is the Managing Director of Aedas, which is the world’s second largest architectural company according to World Architecture Survey 2009. Aedas employs more than 2,500 staff in forty offices across eighteen countries. Mr Sze recognises that it is people who make up the company and is a great believer in team work. His objective of creating architectural excellence has not only won Aedas numerous prestigious projects throughout the world, but also many local and international awards in recognition of Aedas’ design achievement.


Aedas’ success story hinges on people assets, which forms the core of the company’s business philosophy. Mr Sze aims to connect his huge network of business and non-business related friends with each other for fellowship and common social causes. His networking interests have not only been confined to architecture, but have extended to other areas such as numerous charity and professional organisations.


Mr Sze was Chairman of the HKSAR Architects Registration Board. He also served as Chairman and council member and on various boards and committees of the Hong Kong Institute of Architects. He is the Co-Chairman of Community for the Chest and Jade Solid Gold Organising Committee, Executive Committee Member of the Lok Sin Tong Benevolent Society, Director of Lion’s Club, Member of Fu Hong Society, Founding Member of the Hong Kong Professionals and Senior Executives Association, Ex-President of YMCA Y’s Men’s Club of Hong Kong, Member of The Hong Kong Management Association 2009 Theme Year Working Party and acts as the Governor for The Australian International School and G.T. College in Hong Kong.


Mr Sze is currently President of The Australian Chinese Association of Hong Kong, Vice President of the Hong Kong Institute of Real Estate Administrators, Honorary President of Hong Kong Small and Medium Enterprises General Association, Executive Committee Member of the Hong Kong Coalition of Service Industries, Member of Hong Kong Trade Development Council – Infrastructure Development Advisory Committee, Member of the Authorised Persons Registration Committee Panel of the Buildings Department, Member of Railway Objections Hearing Panel of the Office of the Secretary for Transport and Housing Bureau, Member of Harbour Business Forum Best Practice Committee and has been Chairman of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce Real Estate and Infrastructure Committee since 2005. In the same year, Mr Sze was appointed by the HKSAR Chief Executive as a member of the Commission on Strategic Development.
