Karina Akib is an Australian business development leader, living and working in Indonesia. Karina is passionate about her role building Indonesia's digital eco-system as a Strategic Partner Manager at Google Indonesia. Leading Google's reseller business in Indonesia, Karina is building a network of partners that help small medium businesses grow online. Prior to Google she was a management consultant with Boston Consulting Group working across South East Asia. Moving to Indonesia 5 years ago originally to learn more about her family heritage, she realized how vibrant the country was and how important the bilateral relationship between Australia and Indonesia is. To that end, she co-founded Conference of Australia and Indonesia Youth (CAUSINDY) a conference for young leaders in politics, commerce and policy and is a National Director of Australia Indonesia Youth Association the peak body to promote stronger relations between the brightest young leaders from each country.
Karina is passionate about social entrepreneurship and technology as a way to deliver sustainable economic growth and jobs. While at BCG Karina developed and launched BCG's social impact initiative where she worked closely with World Economic Forum to design Indonesia’s first impact investing fund and has advised several social businesses including Yaysan Anak Cina Bangsa (YCAB) and Rekan Usaha Micro Anda (RUMA). Prior to joining BCG, she led a product launch at RUMA to use mobile phone technology as a tool to develop the livelihood of individuals at the base of the pyramid.
