Paris: Senator the Hon Kim Carr visit to Paris



The Australian Ambassador to France, David Ritchie has extended an invitation to ADVANCE members to a reception at the Australian Embassy on Thursday 17 June from 6pm, in honour of the visit to France by the Australian Minister for Innovation, Industry, Science and Research, Senator the Hon Kim Carr. 


Senator Carr will introduce a presentation on the joint Australia-New Zealand bid to host the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) by Professor Peter Quinn, Director, International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research and Professor of Physics at University of Western Australia.  


Vastly more sensitive than the world's best existing radio telescopes, the SKA will be one of the largest and most ambitious international science projects ever devised. It will help answer fundamental questions about the evolution of the universe.

The presentation will be conducted in English with consecutive interpretation into French and will be followed by a reception with drinks and light finger food.
