France: Punching Above Our Weight

Advance France invites members to Punching Above Our Weight: The Australian Experience Living and Working in France on Monday 28 September, 2009

This is our first annual panel speaking event, as part of our new programme of events and seminars. We will be looking at unique stories of Australians living and working in France.

Australians occupy a disproportionate number of high-ranking positions in the worlds of business, academia, sports and the arts in France.

We have invited leading Australians who are currently living or who have lived in France to discuss:
*What is the X-factor that allows us to punch above our weight?
*What are the experiences of some of Australia's high profile achievers living and working in France?
*What are the best techniques of breaching the cultural chasm?
*What lessons can be learnt from the French and what are we able to teach them?
*Where do the business opportunities exist in 2010 and beyond.

Special Guest:
David Ritchie, Australian Ambassador to France
Panelists include:
Dr Nicholas BakerSenior Trade Commissioner, Austrade
Ross McInnes, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, SAFRAN France
