Paris: Hyme a Piaf

Caroline Nin's second season of her sell out show, 'Hyme a Piaf', returns to Paris from September 6 to November 9, 2013 and again over the Christmas period from December 26, 2013 through to January 4, 2014.

Note it in your agendas!

After a triumphant sold-out première season in Paris, French chanteuse Caroline Nin returns to the stage with her globally acclaimed show Hyme a Piaf, a bilingual tribute to France’s most famous chanteuse Edith Piaf, 50 years after the curtain closed on the star’s incredible life.

Described as a “classic femme fatale” with a unique voice and electric stage presence, Miss Nin is back by popular demand to perform just three nights a week (from September 6) in the intimate cabaret setting of the historical Essaion Theatre in Le Marais.

The international award nominee breathes new life into the spine-tingling French anthems such as La Vie en Rose, Hymne à l’Amour and Padam while also giving greater understanding to the well-known songs by weaving English-spoken stories throughout about the star’s life and how they came to be.

From sell-out shows at Sydney’s prestigious Opera House, London’s Royal Festival Hall and The Famous Spiegletent at the Edinburgh Festival as well as well as theatres in New York, Berlin, Amsterdam, Melbourne and Auckland, the Parisian cabaret star has enthralled and uplifted audiences through her mesmerizing interpretation – rather than impersonation - of Piaf’s ouevre with her smoky jazz-inflected voice and spirited singing.

In 2012, Miss Nin’s homage to the little sparrow in sell-out shows around the world earned her a prestigious 2012 Helpmann Award nomination for Best Cabaret Performer.

Since then, the Parisian chanteuse has been singing to a 1200-strong crowd six nights a week at France’s most famous cabaret venue, Le Lido de Paris on the Avenue des Champs Elysees.

"I’m so delighted to be asked to return to the Essaion Theatre to perform Hymne a Piaf again in my home city. Nothing could make me prouder as a Parisian than to share the music and life of the most famous of all French chanteuse, Edith Piaf", says Miss Nin.

Caroline Nin will perform at the Essaion Theatre every Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights from September 6 to November 9 starting promptly at 7.30pm.

She will also perform some special pre-Xmas performances from December 26 to Jan 4.
