New York: The Universal Thump, Artists in Residence at The Living Room

The Universal Thump is a Brooklyn-based art song project led by Australian Greta Gertler (songwriter, singer, pianist) and Adam D Gold (drummer, producer, multi-instrumentalist).

Both a live show and a recording-in-progress, the project started in 2008, in an undisclosed basement recording studio operated by Adam in Park Slope, Brooklyn. The Universal Thump is a loosely conceptual project about a search for space and survival in song; each song occupying its own, unique sonic landscape, upon which layers of sound and narrative unfold, often incorporating jazz or classical music elements.

The project with be featured at iconic Lower East Side venue, The Living Room, throughout the month of October.
