With the success of 2017 Australia China Careers Fair Roadshow, the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) and the Australian Chamber of Commerce Shanghai (AustCham Shanghai) will join forces to host the 2018 Australia China Careers Fair Roadshow in Beijing and Shanghai from 14-16 July. AustCham Beijing is inviting member companies to participate in this event by hosting a company booth promoting your business to the hundreds of future China-Australia business leaders in attendance. This event provides an invaluable recruitment platform connecting you with high-quality students and alumni from Australia’s top universities.

The Roadshow, supported by local partner Zhaopin.com, will feature Careers Fairs in Beijing (organised by Austrade with support from Austcham Beijing) and Shanghai (organised by AustCham Shanghai), as well as a Careers and Employability Forum in Shanghai after the Fairs.

The events will be sponsored by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and CPA Australia.

On Thursday June 28th, AustCham Beijing will be hosting an exclusive event with Ms. Teresa Conolan, Minister Counsellor (Department of Home Affairs), Australian Embassy Beijing regarding Australian immigration laws and requirements.

The Department of Home Affairs is responsible for Australia’s immigration and customs border policy. Visa acquisition arrangements are an integral part of Australia-China relations. This event will brief the AustCham community and visa agents on the various visa types, processing times and other relevant matters relating to immigration.

The event will feature a presentation by Ms. Teresa Conolan providing valuable insight on immigration laws in Australia as well as an opportunity for a Q&A, providing agents an opportunity to further clear up any queries they may have.

In May 2017 at the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, Chinese President Xi Jinping announced the China International Import Expo (CIIE), to be held in November 2018.

CIIE is a week-long trade show showcasing imported products of many nations and covering various industries and sectors. Timed with the 40th anniversary of China’s opening and reform, the trade show will be co-hosted by China’s Ministry of Commerce, the Shanghai Municipal Government, and is supported Austrade, the Australia-China Business Council, as well as the China Chamber of Commerce in Australia.

This will be the largest and most influential trade fair in China’s history. AustCham Shanghai encourages all of our members and stakeholders to come and learn more about the program and how they can participate and benefit from CIIE.
