Advance broadens Asia reach with new Board appointments
Advance, the leading network for global Australians, is delighted to announce the Board appointments of Tracy Colgan and Louise Thurgood Phillips as part of the organisation’s continued focus on building capacity and impact, particularly in Asia.
“The appointment of Tracy Colgan, together with Louise Thurgood Phillips, as new Advance Board members will further diversify the skillset, knowledge and reach of the Advance Board, with a focus on strengthening our strategic engagement in Asia,” said Yasmin Allen, Chairman, Advance. “They each bring a clear set of skills and new perspectives to help expand and leverage Advance’s role to harness its community as soft power and an innovation conduit for the country.”
With over 25 years experience working in China as President and Beijing based Managing Director of Kamsky Associates, Tracy has deep expertise in strategy development and client engagement across China and the Asia Pacific Region. Experienced in both multi-national foreign direct investment and Chinese outward investment, Tracy remains at the forefront of the country’s cross-border M&A. Fluent in Mandarin, Tracy is also Chairman Emeritus of AustCham Beijing, a Beijing-based expat network with whom Advance collaborates closely. Tracy joins Michelle Garnaut, AO as an Advance board member based in China, along with Geoff Raby, former Australian Ambassador to China, who sits on the Advance Global Advisory Council.

Louise brings strong credentials in risk and finance gained during more than 25 years in complex, fast-growing global companies in the banking, finance, and infrastructure sectors. She has extensive risk management experience gained across a wide range of industries including, infrastructure, agriculture, construction, renewable energy, mining and consumables.
