2018 Advance Born Global Salon: Sydney


On a warm autumn evening in Sydney, Advance hosted the third Born Global Salon for 2018 supported by OFX. It was a stellar evening filled with conversation with new and old connections and stunning views of Sydney Harbour, all enjoyed over canapes and wine.

The night featured Mandy Drury, global CNBC Anchor, in conversation with Dr Catriona Wallace, founder and CEO of Flamingo AI and 2017 Advance Award winner (Tech Innovation). Catriona who spoke about our artificially intelligent future, how AI can revolutionize the world, transform service across multiple industries and her concerns about gender bias being hard coded into AI and machine learning algorithms.

Flamingo is the second only woman led (CEO & Chair) business to list on the ASX. Based in NYC and Sydney, Catriona is one of the world’s most cited experts on the Future of Customer Experience, Artificial Intelligence and Bot Strategy.
