Where did you grow up/study in Australia?
I grew up in the humble northern suburbs of Melbourne. Playing Australian Rules footy for the local community team Bundoora 'Bunnies' Football Club in the DVDFL. Tough competition that has served me well through life. Little did I know then that I'd end end playing for the London Lions and New York Magpies. Wonderful experiences. I studied B.A Graphic Design at Monash University after finding my passion for Art & Design very early in my life designing my own primary school logo in Grade 3 and still in use today some 33 years later. Test of time.
Where are some of the interesting places you have lived around the world?
I have the opportunity to work in amazing cities around the world. A great opportunity arose to work in London at InterBrand after working with Andy Payne's twin brother on the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games Branding. I was lucky again to be recommended for a Design Director role at Siegel & Gale NY, New York being one of my favourite cities in the world along side Tokyo and Sydney where I now live and work.
Where are you currently living?
Currently living and working in Chippendale, central Sydney.
What do you do?
I'm a Branding Designer at heart, having created iconic Australian and Global Brand Identities. I'm also an investor in the Australian Startup community and a Mentor at Stone & Chalk.
What's a hidden secret of your city?
My local neighbourhood of Chipoendale is becoming the cultural hub of Sydney with amazing restaurants, real pubs, brilliant coffee, inspiring art galleries, craft workshops and controversial wall graffiti. White Rabbit Gallery a highlight.
What's your favorite cafe/bar/restaurant in your current city?
I'd recommend a mouth watering artisan desert at Masterchef finalist inspired Dessert Bar KOI on Kensignton Street, Chippendale.
Describe your adopted hometown/current city in three words.
Vibrant, Creative, Challenging
What do you miss most about Australia when you are overseas?
When based in London and New York I missed the easy going nature of Australia. Now based back in Australia I miss the 24/7 lively energy of those cities. I miss my Japanese chef making me a fresh bento box order at 1am in morning.
