Where did you grow up/study in Australia?
Grew up in the South East suburbs of Melbourne. Attended Melbourne High for secondary education, before completing a B.Sc. at Monash University between 1982-1984, majoring in Chemistry. Further studies followed in 1990-1991, with a Grad Dip of Applied Science at Swinburne University of Technology.
Where are some of the interesting places you have lived around the world?
From early 2004 until May 2012, I lived with my wife Ann in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Our daughter Tamara Jia-Li was born in KL in Dec 2004.
Where are you currently living?
Currently I am living in the Westchase area of Tampa, Florida.
What do you do?
Typically I work in the manufacturing sector, with senior management and business focussed appointments in companies serving the chemicals and petrochemicals segments. At the moment, I am looking for new employment to ensure my family and I can remain in the USA.
What's a hidden secret of your city?
The Pirate legend!! Tampa has the Gasparilla festival, which is based on the legend of a pirate invasion of Tampa, by the mythical pirate captain, Jose Gaspar. The festival is part of celebrations held in January or February each year.
What's your favorite cafe/bar/restaurant in your current city?
Favorite Cafe is Oxford Exchange - very stylish decor, great coffee and food, plus a clever floor design with a reading area and book sales. Favorite bar is Ceviche, where live bands play Latin music for the dinner guests and customers to dance. Favorite restaurant is Ocean Prime, with a seafood and beef menu, featuring split dining areas, plus a cosy bar area.

Warm, friendly ..... and flat.
What do you miss most about Australia when you are overseas?
The Aussie humour and humility.
