Anjali Rao is an award-winning anchor and correspondent for CNN International. She anchors CNN's morning news program, WORLD REPORT, live from the network's Asia Pacific headquarters in Hong Kong. Anjali holds a prestigious Asian Television Award for "Best Current Affairs Presenter" for TALK ASIA, CNN's weekly flagship program that features revealing, in-depth interviews and topical discussion with leading political, business and entertainment figures from across the globe.
Since joining CNN in January 2006, Anjali has consistently led CNN's coverage of the biggest regional and international stories. She has also interviewed some of the world's top newsmakers including former U.S. President Bill Clinton, the Dalai Lama, Oscar-winning actors Kevin Spacey and Gwyneth Paltrow, sporting legends Roger Federer and Shane Warne, fashion icons Karl Lagerfeld, Vivienne Westwood and Donatella Versace and Grammy-winning singer, Rihanna, among many others.
Prior to joining CNN, Anjali worked at Australia's Seven Network, Star TV in Asia and Sky News in London. Born in Hong Kong to an Indian father and Australian mother, Anjali was educated mainly in the U.K. She has returned to Australia and lives in Melbourne with her husband, Brett and their young son, Isambard.
