Message from the Queensland Network Chair, Elissa Burke
Queensland's motto is - Bold Faithful. These are two adjectives which best describe our Advance Queensland Network and Queensland – the Smart State.

In leaving Queensland and being here in the US, we are all being bold. We are taking risks, being confident, courageous and brave.

As the Qld Premier, the Hon. Peter Beattie said when he launched the Advance Qld Network in 2003, “Opportunities are only limited by our imagination” .

Advance is fortunate to have the faith and support of the Queensland Government. I applaud the 2006 Advance Queensland Government Expatriate Award recipients and ask that you along with them continually fly the Queensland flag.

I am delighted to be chair of the Advance Queensland Network and look forward to a successful 2006! I urge all Queenslanders in the United States to open doors for the Smart State in the world’s biggest economy and important market for Queensland.
