Advance is the leading global network of Australians and alumni abroad. Established by founding patrons Lachlan Murdoch, Anthony Pratt, Peter Lowy and Lisa Fox in 2002, Advance has a growing membership of over 20,000 in 80 countries. Advance forges connections with the one million Australians in our diaspora, drawing on their experience and networks to open doors and opportunities for Australia and Australians around the globe.
Through our extensive industry networks in the US, Asia, UK, Europe and Australia, our strong relationship with business, government and academia and the support of our members, Advance galvanises Australia's global community for the economic, cultural and social advancement of Australia and Australians abroad.
Advance is a not-for-profit organisation, and headquartered in New York City, with further offices in Hong Kong, London and San Francisco.

The Advance Emerging Leaders Summit brought together Advance's Australian expatriate and alumni networks in India along with our emerging leaders, to inspire creative strategies, tackle key challenges and opportunities and forge stronger relationships between India and Australia. The Summit explored redesigning India’s and Australia’s entrepreneurial ecosystems, meeting the region’s future energy needs, the urbanisation of cities and high quality international education and globalised citizens.

Advance hosted the inaugural gathering of influential Australians and alumni in the Asia region to promote the exchange of ideas and the development of recommendations for the Australian government. The focus of the Summit was to explore what critical role the Australian diaspora in Asia could make a considerable contribution in achieving common goals of sustainability, prosperity and security for the wider region. The Global Victorians' Symposium brought together current and emerging leaders from around the globe, as well as recently returned Victorians. It offered a unique opportunity for participants to discuss and develop fresh ideas that could be adopted by the Government and Victorians overseas. Merck Advancing BioBusiness Awards (Global, Annual) In partnership with Merck, Sharp and Dohme, Advance offers a unique international award to facilitate exposure to the US market commercialisation processes for Australian discoveries. Through the Award, one Australian scientist receives the support to build valuable international networks and collaborations that will benefit their business and the Australian life sciences industry. |
