WELCOME TO ADVANCE QUEENSLAND

Message from the Premier of Queensland, Hon Peter Beattie MP

My Government has been proud to support the establishment of the Advance Queensland Network.

This Advance network is an invaluable resource for Queensland because you have an inside knowledge of the Queensland and the US market.

The areas you work in from biotechnology, ICT, finance and creative industries are all areas we are targeting under our Smart State strategy. We would like all of you to be a part of the this State’s bright future whether through being supporters of companies in pursuit of business, investment and cultural opportunities in the United States or by bringing your experience and contacts back home to the State.

I wish you all every success with your careers and with the Advance Queensland Network.

STAYING CONNECTED

Message from the Advance Queensland Network Chair, Elissa Burke

Queensland's motto is - Bold Faithful. These are two adjectives which best describe our Advance Queensland Network and Queensland – the Smart State.

In leaving Queensland and being here in the US, we are all being bold. We are taking risks, being confident, courageous and brave.

As the Qld Premier, the Hon. Peter Beattie said when he launched the Advance Qld Network in 2003, “Opportunities are only limited by our imagination” .

Advance is fortunate to have the faith and support of the Queensland Government.
I applaud the 2006 Advance Queensland Government Expatriate Award recipients and ask that you along with them continually fly the Queensland flag.

I am delighted to be chair of the Advance Queensland Network and look forward to a successful 2006! I urge all Queenslanders in the United States to open doors for the Smart State in the world’s biggest economy and important market for Queensland.
