How to Lead in a High-Pressure Environment
Join Advance as we explore the psychology of management as it relates to sport and the corporate environment.
James Hird is one of Australia’s most respected footballers, former captain of Essendon Football Club and a Brownlow Medalist (the highest honor in Australian Rules Football). He now leads the media division of Gemba, a sports marketing agency.
Al Ramadan has lead a team of hundreds across five continents in his role as Senior Vice President & General Manager at Adobe Systems, the world’s 4th largest software company. Al was Chief Technology Officer of Australia's team in the America’s Cup Challenge in San Diego in 1995, and voted one of the 50 most influential people in the digital economy by Time magazine.
Hird and Ramadan are two leaders who have transitioned from the sporting arena to business and survived the pressure game in today's talent-driven economy.
James Swanwick, President of Crocmedia America will moderate the discussion to cover:
* What sport can teach business about motivation and performance, and how
to manage team spirits after victory and loss;
* How much does a "win" relate to your psychology and mind-set;
* How to overcome environmental factors that are outside of your control;
* The critical role technology plays in sport in today's ultra-competitive
environment;
* Fostering and leveraging sponsorship - how to forge a successful
sport/business partnership.
