Victorian Bushfires Information - February 2009

With record temperatures in Victoria over the past week, bushfires have swept across the state in the worst fires in Victoria's history. The death toll stands at more than 160 and many more Victorians have lost their homes and everything they own.

In
Premier Brumby's words, "Communities across Victoria have been devastated by more than 400 bushfires that have swept across the state... The human cost of these fires has been horrific ...I encourage Australians to dig deep to help our communities to rebuild after these terrible fires."
